Got a call from their "total loss division" Here's the lowdown: -They're calling it a total loss (based on NADA value)
-They have no interest in my car (so after they cut me the check, they aren't taking it, I get to keep it)
-It's over 10 years old, so I don't need to get a salvage title per Mass law. (if I do repair, I will need to get a safety inspection for my insurance company) So now, I have to work with the adjuster (who seems relatively personable and willing to work with me. he noted aftermarket parts when he looked at it, and commented on the vehicles amazing condition) to determine the settlement cost. Now for the fun part: Total spent on modifications: $15,650.00 (shit adds up SOOOO fuckin fast)
Minus cost of items on car at time of purchase (or items sold after upgrade): $2,223.00
Total value of modifications: $13,427.00 (not including purchase price of car or NADA value of current mileage 91 300TT) So basically, I have to work with the adjuster to determine a happy medium between the NADA value + modifications 21,627.00 and the NADA value 8,200 Ding ding!!
